I will go on the basis of not comparing this silent hill to the other ones, I will rate it based on my personal experiences in life. The crowded alleyways and the chilling fog reminds me of when I would wonder through foggy days in a park when I was a youngling stationed in Okinawa. THey felt haunted, but somehow I enjoyed it? The monsters are like the typical horror bloody monsters, but the lack of guns and the new "stamina" bar makes the risks of death a higher.

At first, I got really bored watching the playthroughs (my favorite is Jay from KubzScouts). Another round of puzzles, battling bloody monsters, walking through foggy areas. And usually many people see the Japanese mythology as a new concept, but I grew up with these types of settings. Now that I think about it I'm more adjusted to it than American/European settings. Anyways, so I wasn't impressed with novelty in terms of worldbuilding.

Spoiler HOWEVER understaning the backstory of our protagonist Hinako made me like the game so much more. Yes, it was a new character-driven plot (female rage, societal pressues). My favorite part wasn't because her story in games is unique, but it appealed to me because it was relatable. Everyone wanted her to conform completely, they all had their own expectations on who she was supposed to be. (Asian things)
